Registration for  the 2017 – 18 school year will be conducted over the next several weeks, starting with Sacred Heart Church registration from now to February 17th.  Students currently enrolled at SHARE will receive registration papers on February 23rd  and 24th . This registration opportunity is for SHARE students who are planning to return to SHARE next year and any siblings that are ready to start preschool.  Please return your registration promptly to confirm enrollment for your child in the session of your choice. Alumni registration will be open March 7th.  Alumni will be reminded to call or come to the preschool with registration requests. We will conclude formal registration with public registration for classes on March 8th at 6 pm.  A lottery drawing will be held at 6:30 pm. for the remaining spots open in the WF class if there is more interest than availability.

Valentine parties will be held February 9th  and 10th during class time.  We ask that your child bring a valentine for each person in his/her class.  (MTTH  AM class: 23 students, MTTH PM class: 19 students and WF classes: 25 students)  You may include a small treat with each valentine, but it is not required.  We will be making special valentine bags in class to hold all the valentines your child receives. When helping your child address valentines, please just have your child sign just his/her name. When valentines are addressed to each particular child, it takes almost the entire class time to hand out valentines.  We have many activities planned for the party and want to have time for ALL the fun!

SAVE THE DATE: March 2nd 5:30-7 pm will be our first Family Night at SHARE Preschool!

Our theme is Dr. Seuss and we will have many different fun family activities planned around our theme. It will be an open house style event, so feel free to come and go as you please.

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thanks again for your donations for the Christmas Programs. We hope you enjoyed them as much as we did.

We had a staffing change that occurred with the start of the new year. Maria is no longer with us. Over the summer, her mother passed away and she has been busier than she expected helping her father out. She graciously stayed on for the first half of the year and we wish her all the best. Sam will be taking over Maria’s days, so we will not be hiring anyone new at this time.

“P” week will begin on Monday, January 16th. We have many fun activities planned. On Thursday and Friday the students can dress up like a pirate or a princess. We will also have popcorn for a special snack.

No school on November 24th and 25th. We DO have class on Monday, November 28th even though Newton schools are off.

The Christmas program for the MTTH classes is December 15th. The program for the AM class starts at 10:00am. The program for the PM class starts at 1pm.  The Christmas program for the WF class will be on December 16th at 10:00am

Winter Clothing:  Boots and snow pants are NOT required for preschool.  We will stay inside during the cold winter months except for an occasional sledding party.  We will let you know in advance if you will need to send special outdoor clothing for your child.  The sidewalks are generally clear at Sacred Heart during the winter and we make every effort to keep your child’s shoes dry and clean.

In the case of possible school cancellation an announcement will be made on KCOB radio and we make every effort to call your home before 7:30am.  Generally we do not have school if Newton Public schools cancel.  There are exceptions to the school cancellations especially if there is a late start.  We will notify all parents if our decision is different than Newton Community Schools.
