Looking Ahead

All classes go to the Pumpkin Farm on Thursday, October 6.  We still need many volunteers to be chaperones.  If you are interested in going, please let us know.  Please send in your pumpkin form, along with your $9.00 fee before October 6, if you plan to attend.  All students are already covered by their activity fee.

Parents:  Please check the pumpkin newsletter.  On the day of your child’s field trip, please have your child at the McCann Center at 10:30 a.m.  You will need to check in with one of the teachers to receive our itinerary for the day.  Please read it carefully and note important meeting times.  We will have coolers for you to store your lunch at the front doors of the McCann Center.  Please mark your child’s lunch and drink with their name.

We will plan on being back at the McCann Center by 1:45 p.m.  If it is rainy, we will be back slightly earlier.  We will not cancel the trip unless the weather absolutely is not cooperating,  Please remember to dress for cool or cold weather.

MTTHU parents – Jenny Thompson, the Dietitian at Hy- Vee, has offered to conduct a cooking class.  It is scheduled for November 8th, during our regular class time.   The children will  prepare and eat their snack at Hy- Vee.  We are not sure what we are cooking on that day but, Jenny has contacted us to find out any dietary restrictions she needs to address.  She said space is limited so, we can only take a few parents from each class.  Please let us know if you would like to attend.

Looking Ahead

We sure are looking forward to a great first week with your children!  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call.

Thank you for being patient with the pick-up line during the first week of school. To expedite this process, please remember to place the green signs with your child’s name close to the windshield  or placed on the outside of the passenger visor, for us to see more clearly and quickly.

We are creating a “Family” sensory table in our classroom next week.  If you would like to send a family picture (one that can be cropped and you don’t mind not getting back), we will add it to our table. The children will have fun seeing themselves with their families as they play.

We are panning to go to Mariposa on September 26th during individual class times. We will be exploring nature, taking a hike and netting pond life.  We will be riding the bus and there is plenty of room for volunteers. Please inform a teacher if you plan on attending.

Orders for SHARE t-shirts are due by September 16th.
